The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Stella Hess
Stella L. Hess, 85, of Dayton, died June 30, 2006, at Hospice of Cincinnati.
She was born Dec. 26, 1920, in Avon, to William and Catherine Hart Plas. Her husband of 62 years, William, is deceased.
Survivors are two sons, William D. (Judy), Petaluma, Calif., and Kevin (Carol), Coldwater; four daughters, Sharon (Earl) Elston, Lexington, Ky., Nancy (Tom) Niehaus, Cincinnati, Arlene (David) Forsthoefel, Cincinnati, and Margie Hess, Kettering; a brother, Ralph Plas, Grand Island, Neb.; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, Dale; and a son-in-law, Steven McNelly.
For 30 years she was co-owner of Bill's Washer Service with her husband. She was a member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, Immaculate Conception Church's Free Spirits and the Rosary Altar Society.
Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Church, Dayton. Burial is at Calvary Cemetery.
Calling is 2-5 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
