The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Mary Thomas
Mary Alice Thomas, 75, of Convoy, died at 8:37 a.m. Aug. 5, 2006, at Van Wert County Hospital.
She was born July 30, 1931, in York Township, Van Wert County, to Russell and Margaret Kathern Reed Linton. On Feb. 18, 1951, she married James L. Thomas, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, James (Lura), Orient, Robert (Missy), Farmersville, and David (Donna), Convoy; four brothers, Junior (Flora Mae) Linton, Ohio City, Paul (Rita) Linton, Celina; and Lewis (Betty) and John (Karen) Linton, both of Van Wert; a sister, Elenora Rank, Coldwater, Mich.; a mother-in-law, Ella Mae Thomas, Rockford; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a brother, David Reed Linton.
She worked at National Seal, Van Wert, and for 13 years was a bookkeeper at United National Bank, Convoy branch. She retired from Marsh Foundation School after seven years. She was a 1949 graduate of York High School and attended International Business College, Fort Wayne, Ind.
She was a member of Convoy United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and Convoy Research Club. She served as church treasurer for many years.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church the Rev. Gregory Leigh officiating. Burial is at International Order of Oddfellows Cemetery, Convoy.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Cowan & Son Stainfield Memorial Home, Convoy, and after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
