The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Edward Conradi
New Bremen native Edward Conradi, 67, of Mount Pleasant, S.C., died Oct. 7, 2006, at the Medical University Hospital, Charleston, S.C.
He was born June 18, 1939, in New Bremen, to Carl Conradi and Marjorie Conradi Lietz. His wife of 43 years, Sandra Conradi, survives in Mount Pleasant.
Also surviving are three daughters, Diane, Whitefish, Mont., Elaine Eustis, Corbin, Ky., and Karen Conradi Deschenes, Portland, Ore.; a sister Genevieve (Dennis Dicke) Conradi, New Bremen; and five grandchildren.
He received a bachelor's of science from Otterbein College and in 1964 a medical doctorate from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He served three years in Germany as a major in the Medical Corps of the U.S. Army. In 1973, he took a position at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) where he was a professor of Pharmacology and Internal Medicine and served as chairman of the Investigational Review Board (IRB) for Human Research. Since 1999, he was the University Compliance Officer.   Memorial services are 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Church, New Bremen.
Calling is 6-8 p.m. Friday at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen.
