The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Elizabeth Grogean
Elizabeth Lachey Grogean, 96, formerly of Osgood and Dayton, died at 11 a.m. Oct. 27, 2006, at Heritage Manor, Minster.
She was born April 23, 1910, in Osgood, to Fred and Frances Bornhorst Poeppleman. On Nov. 23, 1938, she married Joseph Lachey, who died May 30, 1957. On Oct. 19, 1974, she married Anthony Grogean, who died March 7, 2002.
Survivors are a son, Ken (Judy), Springfield; two daughters, Carol Jean (Tom) Feldman, Minster, and Marlene (Bob) Riethman, Vandalia; two sisters, Theckla Recker, St. Henry, and Mildred Winner, Osgood; a brother-in-law, Alga Bruey, St. Henry; a sister-in-law, Alice Poeppelman, Minster; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Linus and Urban Poeppelman, and two sisters, Bernadine Bruey and Dorothy Borchers.
She and her first husband owned and operated The Economy General Store, Osgood. She was a member of St. Nicholas Church and its St. Barbara Ladies Sodality, Osgood; Catholic Ladies of Columbus, Fort Loramie; American Legion Post 588 Auxiliary, Osgood; Knights of St. John Auxiliary, Maria Stein; and former member of Precious Blood Catholic Church, Dayton.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Nicholas Church, the Rev. David Zink officiating. Burial is at St. Martin Cemetery, Osgood.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Monday and 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
