The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Ruth McMahan
Mercer County native Ruth A. McMahan, 74, of Fort Wayne, Ind., died Nov. 12, 2006, at her residence.
She was born Aug. 3, 1932, in Mercer County, to Ferd and Viola Bruns. Her mother survives in St. Marys.
Survivors are a son, Kenneth, Fort Wayne; a daughter, Debra Cool, Palm Bay, Fla.; four brothers, Robert (Martha) Bruns, Rockford, William Bruns, Decatur, Ind., Michael Bruns, Warren, Mich., and Thomas Bruns, Elida; eight sisters, Thelma (Carl) Grilliot, West Palm Beach, Fla., Wilma (Dale) Quellhorst, St. Marys, Martha Young, Greenville, Clara Beougher, Rockford, and Mildred (Paul) Donovan, Darlene Thees, Marie (Bill) Hornburger, and Victoria Giere, all of Celina; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, John and Don Bruns and a sister, Helen Peason.
She worked for Peter Eckrich and Sons for over 33 years.
Services are 1 p.m. Wednesday at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, Fort Wayne. Burial is in Covington Memorial Gardens.
