The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

William Hawkey
William Lloyd Hawkey, 84, 11300 Circle Drive, St. Marys, died at 11:55 p.m. Feb. 25, 2007, at Otterbein St. Marys Retirement Community.
He was born on June 15, 1922, in St. Marys, to Roy and Julia Wagner Hawkey. On Feb. 14, 1946, he married Margaret Robbins, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Phil (Susan), Yellow Springs; a daughter, Barbara (David) LaRoche, Celina; a brother-in-law, James Mumaugh, Elida; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, a stepgrandchild and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
Deceased are a sister , Elizabeth Mumaugh; a half sister, Mary; and a half brother-in-law, Eugene Boyce.
He retired in 1977 from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, St. Marys. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and received a purple heart for his service. He was a graduate of Memorial High School, St. Marys, a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5713, both of Celina, and the Disabled American Veterans Club.
Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Richard Riedel officiating. Burial is at St. Marys Catholic Cemetery, Celina, where military rites will be performed by American Legion Post 210 and the VFW.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home, Celina, and 9-10 a.m. Saturday at the church. The VFW will conduct services at the funeral home at 7 p.m. Friday.
