The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Violet Ballweg
Violet "Pauline" Ballweg, 84, 516 Webb St., St. Marys, died April 17, 2007, at her residence following an extended illness.
She was born Feb. 7, 1923, in St. Marys, to Charles and Mattie Schlechty Hay. On May 8, 1948, she married Cletus Ballweg, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Terry (Sue), and Craig, both of St. Marys; a brother, Charles (Louise) Hay, New Bremen; a sister, Margaret (Martin) Menchhofer, St. Marys; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, Kenneth Hay; and a sister-in-law, Audrey Hay.
She was a homemaker and worked at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, St. Marys, for a number of years. She was a 1941 graduate of Memorial High School and a member of Wayne Street United Methodist Church, both of St. Marys.
Private family services are Friday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Mary Kay Brown officiating. Burial is at Resthaven Memory Gardens near St. Marys.
