The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Jackie Lininger
Jackie Lininger, 77, 501 N. Augustus St., St. Marys, died at 1:50 p.m. Aug. 13, 2007, at Otterbein St. Marys Retirement Community.
She was born May 9, 1930, in Dayton, to Henry and Mary Barber Fredericks. On Dec. 10, 1949, she married H. William Lininger, who died June 16, 2000.
Surviving are four sons, William (Dottie) and Jack (Lynette), all of St. Marys, Jerry (Deb) Becher, Wapakoneta, and Mike (Nancy), Portland, Ind.; three daughters, Pam (Greg Jones) Laffin and Mary (Pat) Williams, all of St. Marys, and Kris (Bill) Deitsch, St. Marys; a sister, Carol (Paul) Huber, Waverly; 23 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a half brother, James Lee; and two grandchildren.
She was a legal secretary in Auglaize County for many years and assisted her husband with Lininger Pony Rides. She was a 1948 graduate of Celina High School and attended Bowling Green State University. She was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and its Altar Sodality and Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary 767, both of St. Marys.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. Anthony Cutcher officiating. Burial is at Gethsemane Cemetery, St. Marys.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys.
