The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Gerald Hall
Gerald "Jerry" Hall, 59, a Precious Blood brother who formerly served at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Celina, died Aug. 25, 2007, at St. Catherine Hospital, East Chicago, Ind. Death was due to a brief illness.
He was born March 2, 1948, in Arlington, Va., to Gerald A. and Mary Frances Deppert Hall, who are deceased.
Surviving are a brother, John (Mirtha), Miami, Fla.; and a sister, Georganne (Sam) Stephens, Altha, Fla.
He entered the Precious Blood Society in 1966 and was incorporated on Aug. 15, 1969. He was a teacher at the former Brunnerdale Seminary in Canton, Ohio, Calumet College of St. Joseph, Whiting, Ind., and St. Joseph's College, Rensselaer, Ind. In 1993, he became pastoral associate at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Celina, where he was a singer and worked in youth ministry. He also served at St. John the Baptist Church, Whiting, Ind. He earned a master's degree in geology from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, a master's of science degree in computer science and information systems at DePaul University, Chicago, and was enrolled in Illinois Institute of Technology working toward a doctorate in environmental science.
Funeral Mass is 2 p.m. Friday at St. Charles Center, Carthagena. Burial is at the Community Cemetery.
Calling is 1-5 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the center, where a wake service will be conducted at 7 p.m.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry.
