The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Kim Herfurth
Kim Douglas Herfurth, 57, 329 S. Main St., Mendon, died Sept. 3, 2007, at his residence. Death was due to an apparent heart attack.
He was born June 9, 1950, in Lima, to Jimmie and Donna Gander Herfurth, who survive in Spencerville. On Dec. 19, 1981, he married Lucinda C. Miller, who also survives.
Also surviving are two brothers, Hal (Vi), Kaneohe, Hawaii, and Rex (Kathy), Alger; a sister, Wendy Herfurth-Fox, Hamilton; and a mother-in-law, Mary Ellen Miller, Mendon.
Deceased is a father-in-law, George Miller.
He was a professional photographer and owner of Douglas Studio, Mendon, and served as a deputy for the Franklin County Sheriff's Office for a number of years. He was a graduate of Spencerville High School and a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, St. Marys.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Miller-Long & Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys. Burial is at Willow Grove Cemetery near New Bremen.
