The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Alma Heilers
Former Anna resident Alma E. Heilers, 86, of North Hamilton Street, Minster, died at 7:45 a.m. Dec. 12, 2007, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Minster.
She was born Sept. 7, 1921, in McCartyville, to August H. and Mary Ann Lehmkuhl Poeppelman. On June 12, 1945, she married Raymond B. Heilers, who died July 17, 2006.
Surviving are four sons, Jim (Irene), St. Marys, Ron (Barb), Houston, and Dave and Rick, both of Sidney; five daughters, Barbara (Jerry) Schoen, Fort Recovery, Myra Jean (Jim) Cunningham, Mars, Pa., Patti (Mike) Williamson, Anna, Sharon, Piqua, and Jolene (Randy) Ahlers, Fort Loramie; two sisters-in-law, Virginia Poeppelman, Botkins, and Verona Poeppelman, Anna; 23 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Wilbur and Donald Poeppelman, and two brothers and their wives, Clarence and Martha Poeppelman and Orvil and Dorothy Poeppelman; a sister, Viola Poeppelman, and three sisters and their husbands, Helen and Ray Hoying, Adele and Arthur Huecker and Verona and Carl Flaute.
She was a homemaker and worked at Dorothy Love Retirement Community until she retired in 1987. A 1939 graduate of Minster High School, she was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, McCartyville, and its Ladies Sodality.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Pat Welsh officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Sunday at Gehret Funeral Home, Fort Loramie, and 9-10 a.m. Monday at the church.
