The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Wesley Wierwille
Wesley W. Wierwille, 58, died at 7:15 p.m. Jan. 18, 2008, at his home in Encinitas, Calif. Death was due to cancer.
He was born May 10, 1949, in St. Marys to Woodrow and Elois Dicke Wierwille. His father died in 1982, and his mother survives in St. Marys. On June 18, 1972, he married Cheryl Lynne Burke, and she survives in Encinitas.
Other survivors are two sisters, Carol of Columbus and Diane DeLong, Louisville Ky.; and a mother- and father-in-law, Clark "Cricket" and Nedra Burke, Findlay.
He spent 36 years at Operations Management Systems in Ohio and California and most recently with Allied Systems, LTD, in San Diego, Calif. He served as captain in the U.S. Army Reserves. In 1967 he graduated from Memorial High School, St. Marys, and in 1971 he earned a bachelor's degree in business from Bowling Green State University. He earned a master's degree in 1980 from Golden Gate University.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at the St. Paul's United Church of Christ, St. Marys, the Revs. Brian Burke, David Burke and Richard Wierwille officiating. Burial is at Pilger Ruhe Cemetery, New Knoxville.
Calling is 6-9 p.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Boy Scouts of America, Black Swamp Area Council or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, San Diego Chapter.
