The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Jack Sawmiller Sr.
Jack L. Sawmiller Sr., 70, 527 Cron St., Celina, died at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 3, 2008, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
He was born Sept. 23, 1937, in St. Marys, to Archie Joseph and Deloris Cotterman Sawmiller. His wife, Janice Eversole, survives.
Other survivors are two sons, Jack Jr. (Jane) and Jason (Tiffany), all of Celina; 11 daughters, Rhonda (Steve) Hufford, Jackie (Rick) Chaney, Lena Ames, Delilah (Tony) Toler, Betsy Slavin, Dolly Keller and Holly (Brian) Kaylor, all of St. Marys, Jeanette Morgan, Cheryl (John) Opperman and Mindy Trejo, all of Celina, and Delora (Jimmy) Hall, Mendon; three stepdaughters, Brenda (Terry) Zimmerman, St. Marys, Leslie Eversole, Hilo, Hawaii, and Laura Eversole, Tonawanda, N.Y.; three brothers, Archie (Judy), Spencerville, and Don (Tracy) and Ron (Deb), all of St. Marys; four sisters, Nancy Thornsberry, Melissa (Jerry) Shoffstall, Delores March and Connie, all of St. Marys; 37 grandchildren and 45 great grandchildren.
He was a retired electrician.
A celebration of life is 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Feb. 17 at Ohio Bar, Wapakoneta.
Contributions can be made to the Cancer Association of Mercer County.
