The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Walter McElroy
Walter Lee McElroy, 74, formerly of 2300 Clover Four Road, New Bremen, died at 5 a.m. March 15, 2008, at his daughter's residence.
He was born March 15, 1934, in Celina, to Ralph Sr. and Mary Rupert McElroy. On Jan. 9, 1954, he married Patsy Geneen Spencer, who died Sept, 23, 2007.
Survivors are two sons, Robert (Carol), St. Marys and Rodney (Terry), Indianapolis, Ind.; three daughters, Vickie (Randal) Wiechart and Betty Ebright, both of Celina, and Becky Miller, Lakeland, Fla.; two brothers Robert (Marge), Monroe, Ind., and Edgar (Esther), Bedford, Ind.; three sisters, Betty Bowersock, St. Marys, Mary Lou (Melvin) Schuman, Botkins, and Jerrilyn Temple, Celina; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, Walter L. Jr.; a daughter, Tonya; five brothers, William E., Leo, Ralph Jr., James Henry, and Walter Leroy, who died in infancy; a sister, Patricia Swineford; a son-in-law, Jeffrey Miller; and a brother-in-law, Norman Bowersock.
He worked for the former Agco New Idea in Coldwater, for 21 years and retired from Cooper Foods, St. Henry.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Steve Howell officiating. Burial is at North Grove Cemetery, Celina.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
