The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Berta Haller
Berta Katherine Haller, 90, Van Wert, died at 9:40 p.m. March 31, 2008, at Van Wert County Hospital.
She was born Feb. 8, 1918, in Paulding to Milton C. and Fairy L. Huffman Wiegel. On Jan. 14, 1944, she married Eugene B. Haller Jr., who survives.
Other survivors are two daughters, Susan Martin McKanna, Celina, and Kathy A. (Mike) Baltzell, Sanford, Fla.; four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a brother, Milton Wiegel.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Marks Lutheran Church, Van Wert. She was a 1936 graduate of Paulding High School.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. William C. Haggis II officiating. Burial is at Ridge Cemetery, Van Wert County.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Thursday at Cowan & Son Funeral Home, Van Wert, and 10-11 a.m. Friday at the church.
Contributions can be made to the Animal Protective League of Van Wert or the church.
