The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Cyril Stammen
Cyril F. Stammen, 85, of 192 North Eastern Ave., St. Henry, died at 5:05 a.m. July 28, 2008, at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater.
He was born May 6, 1923 in Burkettsville, to Joseph and Josephine Weis Stammen. On Sept. 29, 1951, he married Tillie Imwalle who survives.
Other survivors are, two sons, Fred (Darlene) and Ted (Dorothy), all of St. Henry; two daughters, Marlene (Rod) Klose, New Bremen, and Brenda (Bill) Bohman, St. Henry; two brothers, Alfred (Lois), North Star, and Carol (Ruth), St. Henry; four sisters, Margaret Langenkamp, and Eulalia (Elmer) Klosterman, all of Celina, Marie Langenkamp, North Star, and Delores Groff, Dayton; three sisters-in-law, Ruth, New Weston, Sally Stammen, Burkettsville, and Anna Mae Stammen, Coldwater; and nine grandchildren.
Deceased are five brothers, Virgil, Cornelius, Lawrence, Herman and Edward; two sisters, Coletta and Armella; three brothers-in-law, Ado and Norbert Langenkamp and Joe Groff; two sisters-in-law, Esther and Bernadine Stammen; and a grandchild.
He was retired from the Minster Machine Company and a member of the St. Henry Catholic Church, the St. Henry Gun Club and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Coldwater. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. Tony Fortman officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery, where military rites will be conducted.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9-10 a.m. Thursday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry.
