The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Carol Ireton
Former New Knoxville resident Carol "Bud" Ireton, 81, 2117 Kensington Drive, St. Marys, died at 4:45 a.m. Aug. 24, 2008, at Hospice of Dayton.
He was born Jan. 31, 1927, in New Richmond, to Edward Francis and Mabel Gardner Ireton. On Sept. 6, 1949, he married Eunice Lutterbeck, who survives.
Other survivors are a son, David, Dayton; a daughter, Susan (Doug) Harrod, New Bremen; a brother, James (Natalie), Huber Heights; two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Deceased is a daughter, Constance.
He retired from the former Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, St. Marys, after 35 years, where he was night superintendent. He was a member of the First United Church of Christ and the American Legion, both in New Knoxville, the New Knoxville Historical Society, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the Marine Corps League, 4th Marine Division Association, all in St. Marys. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps serving in World War II.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Very Rev. David Williams officiating. Burial with full military rites is at Pilger Ruhe Cemetery, near New Knoxville.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday in the Heritage Room of the church.
