The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Clarence Stump
Former New Weston resident Clarence L. Stump, 82, of the Gardens of St. Henry, died at 12:05 p.m. Sept. 16, 2008, at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater.
He was born Nov. 22, 1925, in Darke County to Simon and Sarah Coby Stump. He married Pearl L. Smith Stump, who died in 2004.
Surviving are two sons, Ronald (Beverly), Rossburg, and Roger (Joanie), Greenville; three daughters, Ruth Blackburn, Greenville, Ruby (Don) Clark, Fort Recovery, and Rebecca (Mark) Nottingham, Hinesville, Ga.; five brothers, Leon (Jean), Fort Recovery, Robert (Margaret), Union City, Roscoe (Judy), Winter Haven, Fla., Carl (Pat), LaGrange, Ind., Alvin (Helen), Rushville, Ind.; three sisters, Bernice (James) Moneysmith, Union City, Loretta (Marvin) McClannan, New Weston, Esta (Richard) Kiser, New Weston; two sisters-in-law, Janis Stump, Celina, and Erma Stump, Union City; 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are four brothers, Orville, Leonard, Marvin and an infant; and a sister Marie.
He retired from Walls Brothers Asphalt Company, Fort Jefferson. He was a member of Ansonia Church of Christ, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Salamonia, Ind., and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at Reichard Funeral Home, Inc. Union City, Ind., the Revs. George Hughes and Tim Scrock officiating.
Calling is 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
