The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Paulette Hoelscher
Paulette M. Hoelscher, 57, 714 W. South St., St. Marys, died at 9:05 p.m. Sept. 17, 2008, at her residence. Death was due to natural causes.
She was born Sept. 5, 1951, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, to Clifford and Betty Greenway Vinnece. On Sept. 4, 1971, she married Daniel Hoelscher, who survives.
Other survivors are a son, Jeff (Amanda), Mason; a brother, Richard (Mary Ann) Vinnece, Arcanum; a sister, Beth Ann (Roger) Cotterman, Dayton, Tenn.; and three grandchildren.
She was a homemaker, worked as a dispatcher at the St. Marys Police Department and was a local historian. She led three archeological digs at Fort St. Marys and co-authored a book about Fort St. Marys. She was a member of the Auglaize County Historical Society and Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Marys. She was a 1970 graduate of Celina High School.
Funeral Mass is 1 p.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Anthony Cutcher officiating. Burial is at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday and after noon Monday at Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys.
