The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

James Block
James B. "Trapper" Block, 62, of 761 Gordon St., Piqua, died at 12:25 p.m. Dec. 7, 2008 in the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Dayton. Death was due to natural causes.
He was born Oct. 17, 1946, in Sidney to Clyde A. and Kathleen N. Buirley Block. On May 6, 1978, he married Barbara "Bobbie" L. Schrader, who survives.
Other survivors are two sons, James A. (Amy), Sidney, and Jacob S., Piqua; two daughters, Nicole Marie Haacke and Amanda, both of Dayton; four sisters, Susan (Ron) DeLaet, Celina, Peggy (Jack) Wilson, Sidney, Linda Franklin, Louisville, Ky., and Kathy (George) Scheffer, Tacoma, Wash.; and five grandchildren.
He was employed with the Orange County Florida Roads and Drainage Department as a heavy equipment operator until his retirement. He attended the Redeemer Lutheran Church, Sidney, was a member of the Fort Loramie American Legion and a former member of the Sidney Masonic Lodge. He graduated from Houston High School in 1964, and served in the U. S. Navy from 1964 to 1967 on the USS Marias.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home, Piqua, the Rev. Kenneth R. Castor officiating. Burial is at Forest Hill Cemetery, Piqua, where full military honors will be conducted by the Fort Loramie American Legion Honor Guard.
Calling is 5-7 p.m. Wednesday and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
