Say good-bye to the shiny diney
Photo by Mark Pummell/The Daily Standard

A portion of the former Devault's restaurant is loaded onto a flatbed truck as workers prepare to move the building - in five pieces - from its site along state Route 118 in the village of St. Henry on Monday. The "shiny diney," as it was known to many local residents, is destined once again to become a restaurant. The '50s-themed building was moved to Schuykill, Pa., according to Tom and Carol Wehrkamp of St. Henry, who sold the building. The silver structure served as a family restaurant for approximately two years beginning in December 1999; owner was Dick Devault. From 2002 to 2006, Tom Wehrkamp co-owned the property and used the lot as a car dealership called TJ's Motors. The Wehrkamps, who are now retired, are sole owners of the property and intend to sell it, they said.
