The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Lodema Dicke
Lodema C. Dicke, 84, of New Bremen, died at 11:45 p.m. Jan. 17, 2009, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
She was born Dec. 12, 1924, near New Bremen, to Levi and Julianna Ziegenbusch Egbert. On Nov. 24, 1945, she married George E. Knost, who died Jan. 24, 1977. On March 4, 1978, she married Paul E. Dicke, who died June 13, 1999.
Survivors are three sons, Joe A. (Terry) Knost, Oklahoma City, Okla., Jack W. (Susan), Knost, Charlotte, N.C., and James R. (Rita) Knost, Maumee; two daughters, Julie V. (David) Zaret, Bloomington, Ind., and Jayne A. Knost, Gahanna; stepson, Don (Lois) Dicke, New Bremen; a stepdaughter, Patricia Now, Coldwater; ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, seven stepgrandchildren, thirteen stepgreat-grandchildren and two stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a sister, Verna Egbert.
She retired in 1978 from the former Beatrice Foods, New Bremen, and was a member of Faith Alliance Church, New Bremen, and its Alliance Women. She served as missionary treasurer and assistant church treasurer. She was past president and member of the New Bremen American Legion Auxiliary, the New Bremen Senior Citizens and the former New Bremen Women's Club.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. Thomas Sager officiating. Burial is at the German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church.
Contributions can be made to the church building fund, the New Bremen Emergency Squad or the American Heart Association.
