The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality. Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories. It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes. Thomas Gross
Thomas Hall Gross, 74, died Nov. 28, 2008, in Las Vegas, where he had lived for over 50 years.
He was born July 1, 1934, in Lima.
Surviving are seven children and 11 grandchildren.
He worked in the hotel business and for several casinos and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving in the Korean War. He graduated in 1952 from Celina High School.
Services were held Dec. 19, 2008, at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Boys and Girls Club of Henderson or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
