The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality. Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories. It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes. Fr. Richard Beischel
Fr. Richard Beischel, C.PP.S., 81, died April 27, 2009, in Valdivia, Chile, following a lengthy illness.
A former associate pastor at Immaculate Conception Church in Celina, he had served as a missionary to Chile and Peru for many years.
Surviving is his brother, Fr. Thomas Beischel, C.PP.S., at St. Charles Center, Carthagena.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated today in Valdivia, with burial to follow in the cemetery there. Plans for local memorial services are pending.
Fr. Robert Onofrey, C.PP.S., 76, died at 5:10 p.m., April 28, 2009, in the infirmary at St. Charles Center, Carthagena, following an extended illness. [More]
