The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Patricia Madsen
Celina native Patricia M. Madsen, 66, of Miamisburg and formerly of North Star, died April 29, 2009, at Hospice of Dayton.
She was born July 31, 1942, in Celina to Claude and Margaret Bihn Knapke. Her husband of 29 years, Richard D. Madsen, survives.
Other survivors are a son, William J. (April) Madsen, Moraine; a grandson; and a caregiver, Mary Christina "Chris" Obringer, Dayton.
She attended the University of Dayton and received a bachelor's degree in education. She also received two master's degrees from Webster College in Missouri in administration and education. During her years of study, she was a religious sister in the Order of The Precious Blood, as Sister Patricia Knapke, for nearly 20 years. She taught at Wapakoneta, Vandalia and St. Henry schools, and was the principal at Our Lady of Good Hope, Miamisburg. Later, she owned and operated a daycare from her home for 25 years.
She was a member of Our Lady of Good Hope parish, Miamisburg, where she taught CCD. She also volunteered with St. Vincent DePaul.
Funeral Mass is 1:00 p.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Tom Nevels officiating. Burial is at a later date at Evergreen Cemetery.
Calling is 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Monday at Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home, Miamisburg.
