The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

June Johnson
June Margret Johnson, 82, of Mendon, died June 2, 2009, at 10:25 p.m. at The Laurels of Shane Hill in Rockford.
She was born March 5, 1927, in Chicago, Ill. to Robert Leland Shaw and Bertha Jane Newvine. On Sept. 28, 1947, she married Rex E. Johnson who survives.
Other survivors are four sons, Terrence (Connie) Johnson, Van Wert, Jeffrey (Pat) Johnson, Mendon, Steven (Brenda) Johnson, Ohio City, Daclyn (Lori) Johnson, Rupert, Idaho; three daughters, Janelle (John) Sites, Rockford, Lyndel (Bill) Smith, Ohio City, and Kimberly (Ed) Johnson, Mendon; a brother, Norman (Mary) Shaw, Lynchburg, Va.; 20 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchild.
She was a homemaker and helped on the farm, and lived in the area for 57 years, coming from Mt. Summit, Ind. She was a member of the Mendon United Methodist Church, the Church Quilting Club, the Mendon Methodist Women's Association, and the Mendon Civic Club. She authored several genealogy and family books and was a pianist for over a half century for the church.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the church, the Rev. Lynn Huffman officiating. Burial is at Tomlinson Cemetery, Mendon.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Saturday at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford, and one hour prior to service Sunday at the church.
