The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Leo Finnen
Leo E. Finnen, 77, 140 N. Garfield St., Minster, died at 9:39 p.m. July 1, 2009, at the home of a daughter.
He was born Sept. 14, 1932, in New Lexington to William and Helen Stine Finnen. On July 9, 1960, he married Dorothy Kemper, who died Aug. 2, 2006.
Surviving are his children, Brian (Jody) Finnen, Lima, Darin (Kelly) Finnen, Toledo, and Leah (Chris) Ketner and John Finnen, all of Minster; brothers and sisters, George (Marilyn) Finnen, Lancaster, Jerry (Jo) Finnen of North Carolina, and Marilyn (Bob) Schumacher, Columbus; and eight grandchildren.
He retired as a guidance counselor at Minster High School and had taught at Marion Local Schools. He was a former Minster football, basketball and baseball coach and drove school bus at the school for many years. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Athletic Boosters, and a past Jaycees and Crescent Players member, all of Minster.
Funeral Mass is 9:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Rick Nieberding officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-7 p.m. Sunday and 8:30-9 a.m. Monday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
Contributions can be made to the Minster High School Scholarship Fund.
