The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

George Berron
George A. Berron, 87, formerly of Muncie, Ind., and a resident of Golden Living Center-Valley Nursing Home, St. Marys, died at 11:50 a.m. July 15, 2009, at the home.
He was born Jan. 16, 1922, in St. Marys to Carl and Erma Rasneor Berron. He first married Rose Elizabeth Myrenius, who survives in Lima. He later married Bernadine Stanley, who died March 19, 1998.
Other survivors are four children, Georgia (Thomas) Grunden, St. Marys, Rebecca Spencer, Willoughby, Carol (Jim ) Peterson, Concord, and Roberta (Jerry) McGlothen, St. Marys; two stepsons, Barry (Anne) Bates, Georgia, and Timothy (Ellen) Bates, Michigan; a brother, Marvin Berron, Fort Wayne, Ind.; and a sister, Martha Sprague, St. Marys.
Deceased are a son-in-law, George Spencer; and a granddaughter.
He was a 1939 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving as a tail gunner during World War II. Upon returning from the war, he assisted in the construction of the former Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, St. Marys, and following completion of the construction, he was employed there until his retirement. He was a member of the American Legion, and the Zion Lutheran Church, both in St. Marys.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Bill Maki officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars, both in St. Marys. Burial is at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery, Anderson, Ind.
Calling is 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys.
