The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Thomas Schlarman
Thomas A. Schlarman, 64, 3164 state Route 119, St. Henry, died at 5:41 p.m. Aug. 5, 2009, at his residence. Death was due to cancer.
He was born April 11, 1945, in Celina to Clarence and Malinda Quinter Schlarman. On Nov. 18, 1967, he married Barbara Metzcar Schlarman, who survives.
Other survivors are three daughters, Shirley (Mike) Green, Lafayette, Ind., Deb (Chris) Teeters, St. Henry, Melissa Schlarman, Fort Recovery; five sons, Charlie (Brenda) Schlarman, Don (Angie) Schlarman, Dan (Lori) Schlarman, all of Fort Recovery, Ken (Angie) Schlarman, St. Henry, and Denny Schlarman, Coldwater; a brother, Robert (Pauline) Schlarman, Fort Recovery; three sisters, Margie Vehorn, St. Henry, Marlene (David) Black, North Star, and Karen Wietholter, Versailles; a sister-in-law, Helen Schlarman, Fort Recovery; and 10 grandchildren.
Deceased is a brother, Gerald Schlarman.
He was a farmer and worked at Tumbusch Construction, St. Henry. He was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Tom Hemm officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday and 9-9:45 a.m. Saturday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery.
