The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Bernice Miller
Bernice M. Miller, 85, formerly of Willshire, died at 10:30 p.m. Aug. 16, 2009, at Colonial Nursing Home, Rockford.
She was born Oct. 2, 1923, in Mount Trail County, N.D., to John B. and Karen Sjomling Berg. On April 1, 1941, she married Leland E. Miller, who died Dec. 7, 1996.
Surviving are two daughters, Barbara N. (Merl K.) Lugar Jr., Berne, Ind., and Judith C. (Howard) Hess, Willshire; a son, Joseph G. (Janet) Miller, Celina; a brother, Kenneth J. Berg, Cheyenne, Wyo.; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, William Lee Miller; three brothers, Arnie, Martin and Edward Berg; four sisters, Julia Moe, Mable Henze, Connie Loyd and Ollie Seeger; and three great-grandchildren.
She was a homemaker and had been a cook at various places for over 20 years. She was a member of the Willshire United Methodist Church and American Legion Auxiliary.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Ind., the Rev. Joe Naas officiating. Burial is at Willshire Cemetery.
