The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Patricia Giesige
Patricia Ann Giesige, 82, 603 N. Sugar St., Celina, died at 4 a.m. Aug. 23, 2009, at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater. Death was due to a heart attack.
She was born Aug. 16, 1927, in Toledo to Ernest and Ann Oberle Knott. On Jan. 31, 1949, she married Raymond L. Giesige, who died on June 23, 1986.
Surviving are 10 children and their spouses, Douglas (Henrie) Giesige, Celina; Mary Green, Lutz, Fla., Marcia (Randy) Hamilton, Land-O-Lakes, Fla., Sally (Jerry) Coate, Celina, David (Isabel) Giesige, Celina; Fred (Ann) Giesige, Celina; Greg (Sue) Giesige, Celina; Mark (Jean) Giesige, Celina; Tom Giesige and his fiancé, Sue Lantz, Celina; and Amy (Chris) Caggiano, Fort Wayne, Ind.; a brother Robert "Rusty" McCarty of Toledo; 36 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are an infant son, Joseph; a son-in-law, Bob Green; a daughter-in-law, Terry Giesige; a brother, Sam Knott; a sister, Barbara Breisacher; two grandsons and two granddaughters.
She was a registered nurse and retired from Celina Manor Nursing Home and had worked for many years at both Otis and Gibbons Hospitals in Celina. In 2007, she was named senior citizen of the year by the Mercer County Council on Aging. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, and its Altar-Rosary Society and the parish life commission. A tireless volunteer, this summer she coordinated snacks at the parish's vacation bible school. She was also a member of the Celina History Club, Circle of Friends, Red Hats Society, and the book club of the Mercer County District Library.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at the church, the Rev. Richard Riedel, officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at W.H. Dick and Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home, Celina.
