The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Maxine Layland
Maxine Layland, 86, of Wapakoneta, died at 5:40 p.m. Aug. 22, 2009, at Auglaize Acres.
She was born Feb. 17, 1923, in Lima to Lynn and Bertha Kline Henderson. On June 3, 1950, she married Floyd Layland, who died June 12, 1990.
Surviving are three children, Robert "Bob" Woods, Wapakoneta, William "Bill" Woods, Martin, Tenn., and Joi (Robert "Bob") Lamb, Chattanooga, Tenn.; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a sister, Mildred Lauck; and five brothers, Richard, Raymond, Ursel, Vernon, and Lloyd Henderson.
She was a homemaker and retired from Koneta Rubber Company in 1983. She was a member of the Wapakoneta Church of Nazarene and a graduate of Lima South High School.
Graveside services are 10:30 a.m., Thursday at the Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta, the Rev. Ward Lewis officiating.
There will be no public visitation.
