The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Louis Schwartz
Louis C. Schwartz, 87, 4358 Lock Two Road, New Bremen, died at 10:20 p.m. Sept. 15, 2009, at Briarwood Village, Coldwater.
He was born on Oct. 1, 1921 in Minster to Adam and Josephine Schulze Schwartz. On Oct. 26, 1946, he married Rita Dues, who died on Aug. 15, 2009.
Surviving are his children; Rosie (Mike) Shelby of St. Marys, Dale (Sandy) Schwartz and Carl (Diane) Schwartz, all of New Bremen, Werner "Bern" (Phyllis) Schwartz, St. Marys, Karen (John) Brandewie, Fort Loramie and Mark (Joan) Schwartz of New Bremen; a brother, Leo (Esther) Schwartz, New Bremen; a sister, Dorothy Kahlig, Coldwater; his in-laws Louise Schwartz, St. Marys, Wilma (Ivo) Heitkamp and Mildred Dues, both of Coldwater and Martha Dues of Ft. Recovery; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Deceased are his siblings, Henrietta Wente and Clara Schwartz, Joseph, Raymond, Albert, Norbert and Lawrence Schwartz.
He was the co-owner and operator of Schwartz Brothers Garage for over 41 years in Lock Two near New Bremen. He was a member of the Church of the Holy Redeemer in New Bremen, the American Legion, New Bremen, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Minster, the New Bremen Rod and Gun Club, the West Side Flying Club the Indian Lake Coast Guard Auxiliary. He served in the Pacific Theater with the U.S. Army during WW II.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Thomas Mannebach officiating. Burial with full military honors by the American Legion will be in the German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Friday, in the Parish Center of Holy Redeemer Church and on Saturday from 9:30 until 10 a.m. in the church at which time the rosary will be prayed.
Contributions can be made to the State of the Heart Hospice, the Briarwood Village or to the Coast Guard Auxiliary.
Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home of New Bremen is entrusted with arrangements.
