The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Robert Nagel
Robert Lee Nagel, 56, 211 S. Washington St., New Bremen, died at 4:50 p.m. Oct. 12, 2009, at his residence. Death was due to natural causes.
He was born Nov. 30, 1952, in Coldwater to Robert S. and Donna L. Donnerberg Nagel, who survive in New Bremen. On June 15, 1991, he married Donna J. Shellenberger Paul, who survives in New Bremen.
Other survivors are his children, Ariel Nagel, Cory (Sharon) Paul and Jessie (Susan) Paul, all of New Bremen; brothers and sisters, Jim (Gayle) Nagel, Mike (Jill) Nagel and John (Ann) Nagel, all of New Bremen, Joyce (Hans) Steinke, St. Marys, and Dan Nagel, Sarasota, Fla.; a mother-in-law, Millie Shellenberger, New Knoxville; and five grandchildren.
He formerly worked at Amatek of Wapakoneta and was a rural letter carrier associate with the U.S. Postal Service. He was a 15-year member of the New Bremen Emergency Squad. He attended Faith Alliance Church, New Bremen. He was a 1970 graduate of New Bremen High School and served in the U.S. Navy from 1971 until 1977 aboard the USS James K. Polk submarine. He was a member of the American Legion, New Bremen, New Bremen Rod and Gun Club, Western Ohio Fish and Game Association, Auglaize County Homeland Security, Amateur Radio Emergency Services and the Community Emergency Response Team of Auglaize County.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. Thomas Sager officiating. Burial is at German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen.
Calling is 3-7 p.m. Thursday at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen, and on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the services at the church.
Contributions may be made to the New Bremen Emergency Squad or to the Tri-County Visiting Nurses and Hospice.
