The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

James F. Pape
James F. Pape, 81, De Palma Terrace Senior Living, Placentia, Calif., died Nov. 13, 2009, at his residence.
He was born in New Bremen on Nov. 17, 1928, to Carl W. Sr. and Hilda Dicke Pape. On April 11, 1953, he married Mary Lou Wagner, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Kevin (Kim), Lake Elsnore, Calif. and a daughter Jaye (Steve) Hammersma, Yorba Linda, Calif.; a brother, Don Pape, Harrison; a sister-in-law Carolyn Pape, New Bremen; a brother-in-law, Floyd (Jocelyn) Chiles; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Carl Jr. and David.
A 1946 graduate of New Bremen High School, he retired from Dibold Company. He was member of the New Bremen Historical Association.
Services were Nov. 22, 2009, at Yorba Linda Presbyterian Church, California. He was cremated.
