The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Otis Fannon
Otis Fannon, 83, 902 Kimberly Drive, St. Marys, died at 12:20 p.m. Jan. 3, 2010, at the Golden Living Center, St. Marys.
He was born Feb. 13, 1926, in St. Marys, to Otis and Nora Koehn Fannon. On April 3, 1948, he married Charlene Weimert, who died Aug. 4, 2007.
Surviving are four children, Sandra (Roger) Wiehe and Pamela (Thomas) Stoker, all of Celina, Sharon (William) Woodbern, Riegelwood, N.C., and Jeff (Holly) Fannon, Sidney; a sister, Ruth (Wilfred) Liette, St. Marys; a son-in-law, Tim Collins, Sunset Harbor, N.C.; a companion, Mary Dull, St. Marys; 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a daughter, Patricia Collins; four grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
He retired from Stamco Tool Company, New Bremen, where he had been a machinist for 35 years. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Marys, where he had served as a Eucharistic minister, visiting local nursing homes. He also was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars, both in St. Marys, and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He served in World War II and was wounded in Okinawa, Japan.
Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. Anthony Cutcher officiating. Burial is at Resthaven Memory Gardens near Moulton.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys.
Contributions can be made to the Auglaize County Cancer Association or St. Peter's Neurological Center.
