The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

George Kerns
George Kerns, 55, 523 Maple St., Celina, and formerly of Maine, California and Indiana, died at 10:25 a.m. Jan. 13, 2010, at his home. Death was due to cancer.
He was born March 12, 1954, in Coldwater to Jack and Mary Ellen McIntosh Kerns. On Sept. 11, 1976, he married Teressa Dull, who survives.
Other survivors are two sons, Neil E. Kerns and Seth F. (Kristen) Kerns, all of Celina; four brothers, Chris (Carole) Kerns, Tim (Sally) Kerns, and Theodore (Allison) Kerns, all of Washington, D.C., and Michael (Kelli) Kerns, Celina; three sisters, Jaclyn Monahan, Connie (Jim) Fleck, and Barbara (Jim) Dabbelt, all of Celina; and two grandchildren.
He worked at North American Van Lines and the Kerns Auto Group. A 1972 Celina High School graduate, he attended the Orange Coast Community College in California. He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Celina, and was active in its youth ministry and musical group. He served in the Emmaus community and prison ministry and was an ambassador with the Celina/Mercer County Chamber of Commerce.
Memorial services are 2 p.m. Saturday at the church, the Revs. Jeff Conrad and Kim Miller officiating. His body is to be cremated.
There are no calling hours.
