The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

James Eischen
Former Mercer County resident James E. "Jim" Eischen, 71, Hawesville, Ky., died April 6, 2010, at his home.
He was born Aug. 17, 1938, in Jay County, Ind., to Sylvester Eischen and Mildred Schmidt. On May 7, 1960, he married Barbara Gross, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Cathy (Scott) Bewley, Reynolds Station, Ky.; a son, Tim (Suzanne) Eischen, Greenfield, Ind.; three sisters, Janet (John Kleinhenz) Privett, Montezuma, Susan (Gary) Jones, Geneva, Ind., and Phyllis Gibson, Lima; a brother, Orville (Carol) Eischen, Celina; and five grandchildren.
Deceased is a brother, David Eischen.
He was a lieutenant of the Indianapolis Fire Department. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, a graduate of Rockford High School, a member of the Knights of Columbus in Hawesville, Ky., and attended St. William and St. Lawrence Catholic churches in Knottsville, Ky.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary of the Presentation Catholic Church in Geneva, Ind., the Rev. Richard Walling officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Calling is 3-9 p.m. today at Huber Funeral Home in Tell City, Ind., and 2-8 p.m. Thursday and 9-9:45 a.m. Friday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery.
