The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Ruth Wellman
Ruth C. Wellman, 80, Bryant, Ind., died June 5, 2010, at Briarwood Manor Nursing Home in Coldwater.
She was born Jan. 7, 1930, in Mercer County, to Anthony and Ann Deitch Weigel. On June 30, 1951, she married Richard Wellman, who survives.
Also surviving are five sons, Tom Wellman, Chicago, Ill., Ken Wellman and Rick Wellman, both of Portland, Ind., Ed Wellman, Bryant, Ind., and Tim Wellman, Decatur, Ind.; two daughters, Kathleen (Dale) Barhorst, Coldwater, and Patricia (Kevin) Price, Decatur, Ind.; a brother, Walter Weigel, Coldwater; 29 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was a retired cook for Bloomfield Elementary, was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Bryant, Ind., and its Alter Rosary Sodality and Rosary Club, and was a graduate of Coldwater High School.
Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. David Hoying officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at Baird-Freeman Funeral Home in Portland, Ind.
