The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Kathleen DiScenza
Kathleen DiScenza, 62, New Bremen, died at 5:46 p.m. May 19, 2011, at her residence.
She was born Sept. 28, 1948, in New Plymouth, New Zealand, to James and Dorothea Edwards McDermott. On Jan. 23, 1998, she married Larry Bruce DiScenza, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Lisa Tudor-Cole and Jennifer Tudor-Cole, both of New Plymouth; brothers, Bruce McDermott, Huntley, New Zealand, Larry McDermott, Christ Church, New Zealand; mother-in-law, Janet (Jim) Doseck, New Bremen; brothers-in-law, Bill Damron, Jackson Center, and Cliff (Delight) Damron, St. Marys; and two grandsons.
Deceased are sisters, Peggy McDermott and June McDermott, and brothers, Don McDermott and Tony McDermott.
She attended school in New Zealand. She was a homemaker and professional calligrapher. She was commissioned to do a calligraphy project for the New Zealand government commemorating the Treaty of Waitangi, between the Maori People and the British Crown.
A memorial service is 5-7 p.m. Saturday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys. Private family burial will take place in New Zealand.
