The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Emily McCune
Emily Jean McCune, 79, rural Mendon, died at 3:20 p.m. Aug. 20, 2011, at Golden Valley Living Center, St. Marys.
She was born Sept. 22, 1931, in Auglaize County, to Merle and Catherine S. Brodbeck Shimp. On June 21, 1951, she married Harold W. McCune, who survives.
Also surviving are three children, Nancy L. (Darrell E.) Hartung, Madison, Ind., Cathy S. (Elvin D.) Williams, Rockford, and Neal A. (Maria E.) McCune, Mendon; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
A homemaker, she was a graduate of Mendon-Union High School and was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, St. Marys.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home, Spencerville, the Rev. Ed Bray officiating. Burial will follow in Kossuth Cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and after 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Grand Lake Health System or to the church.
