The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Mary Helmstetter
Mary H. Helmstetter, 87, St. Marys, died at 9 p.m. Sept. 8, 2011, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.
She was born July 5, 1924, in St. Marys to August and Helen Werts Wieser. On Aug. 9, 1947, she married Ferd Helmstetter, who died Oct. 31, 1982.
Surviving are a daughter, Kathy Crosiar, Springfield; three sons, James (Michele) Helmstetter, Pittsburgh, Pa., Thomas (Madeline) Helmstetter, Holland, Mich., and David (Valerie) Helmstetter, Charleston, W.V.; three sisters-in-law, Jean Helmstetter, St. Marys, Mary Belle (BJ) Swonger, Celina, Nancy Zumberge, Celina; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She graduated as valedictorian from Memorial High School, St. Marys, in 1942 and received her bachelor's degree in chemistry from the University of Cincinnati. She retired from St. Marys City Schools where she taught math at McBroom Jr. High School. She also served as financial officer for the St. Marys Community Public Library.
She was a member of the Wayne Street United Methodist Church, Mothers' Study Club and Progress Club.
Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday at Miller-Long & Folk Funeral Home in St. Marys, the Rev. Steve Weatherly officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.
Calling is 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Marys library.
