The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Lowell Marshal
Lowell J. Marshal, 73, Versailles, died at 3:20 p.m. Oct. 19, 2011, at his residence.
He was born Oct. 26, 1937, in Versailles to Wilmer and Lucille George Marshal. On Sept. 12, 1964, he married Judy Michael, who survives.
Also surviving are children, Larry (Darla) Marshal, Jackie (Dan) Kremer and Jeff (Beth) Marshal, all of Versailles; a sister Rita (Virgil) Kuess, Chickasaw; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A 1955 graduate of Versailles High School, he owned and operated the Versailles Feed Mill since 1973. He had worked at Weston Paper, Dayton, for 13 years and was a farmer.
He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Frenchtown, and served on the church council. He was past grand knight of the Knights of Columbus and also served as financial secretary. He was a member of Versailles Eagles Aerie, Versailles Vet's Club and was a buyer for Darke County Junior Fair and FFA. He served with the U.S. Army.
A Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Denis Catholic Church, Versailles. Burial is at St. Valbert Cemetery, Versailles, where military graveside service will be conducted by the Versailles Veterans Honor Guard.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Sunday and 9-10 a.m. Monday at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles.
