The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Donald Chaney
Donald E. Chaney, 78, of Houston, died during the early morning hours of Jan. 20, 2012, at his residence.
He was born June 30, 1933, in Lima, to Emsley and Glenna Metzger Chaney. On Oct. 29, 1955, he married Dorothy Heitkamp, who survives.
Also surviving are five children, Roger (Ann) Chaney, Fort Loramie, Karen (Bill) Ballou, Sidney, David (Teresa) Chaney, Fort Loramie, Donna (Greg) Francis, Versailles, and Philip (Bridget) Chaney, Fort Loramie; four siblings, Charles "Ed" Chaney, Louisville, Ky., Lon (Norma) Chaney, Greenville, Ray (Marcella) Chaney, Sidney, and Ann (Robert) Bolyard, Ontario, Ore.; sisters- and brothers-in-law, Eileen (Tom) Litmer, Fort Recovery, Paul (Stella) Heitkamp, Fort Recovery, Wilfred (Barbara) Heitkamp, St.Henry, Elmer (Julie) Heitkamp, Fort Recovery, John (Mildred) Heitkamp, Tipp City, Ruth Sutter, St. Henry, Ronald (Donna) Heitkamp, Coldwater, Kenneth Heitkamp, Sanford, N.C., Janice (Howard) Homan, St. Marys, and Daniel (Mary) Heitkamp, Coldwater; 15 grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren, three great-grandchildren and 11 stepgreat-grandchildren.
Deceased are a sister and her husband, Carol and Philip Maine; two infant brothers; and in-laws, Virginia Chaney and Melvin and Evelyn Heitkamp.
He retired from Texo Corp. of Cincinnati in 1995 and previously worked at Copeland Corp., Sidney. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Newport, Houston Community Center, Stillwater Golf Course in Bradford and Sidney American Legion Post. A U.S. Army veteran, he served in Japan during the Korean War.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church, the Rev. Steven Shoup officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery with military honors conducted by the Sidney American Legion.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Monday and 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at Gehret Funeral Home, Fort Loramie.
