The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Philip Herzing
Philip Harrington Herzing, 86, St. Marys, died Feb. 21, 2012.
He was born Feb. 7, 1926, to Philip and Ruth Harrington Herzing. He married Martha Hunt, who died in 1986.
Surviving are a son, Philip (Karen) Herzing, Dayton, and four grandchildren.
Deceased is a brother, Albert.
He was a 1943 graduate of Memorial High School, St. Marys. He graduated from Culver Military Academy, Yale University and The Ohio State University College of Law and attended universities in Switzerland, France and Germany after World War II. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II as a gunnery officer on the battleship Alabama in the Pacific.
He retired from his law practice in 1990 and was founder or co-founder of three insurance companies in the 1970s. He represented the Libertarian Party in 1982 as an Ohio candidate for U.S. Senate.
Service is 3 p.m. Saturday at the Herzing residence, 305 S. Main St., St. Marys. Visitation is 1-3 p.m. at the residence. Burial will follow in Elm Grove Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted by St. Marys Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion posts.
Arrangements are being handled by Cisco Funeral Home, St. Marys.
