The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Joseph Brandewie
Joseph G. Brandewie, 85, Fort Loramie, died at 4:05 p.m. Feb. 28, 2012, at Lima Memorial Hospital.
He was born Feb. 21, 1927, in Fort Loramie, to Lawrence and Lietta Bensman Brandewie. On July 16, 1949, he married Virginia Schafer, who survives.
Also surviving are six children, Sandra Pitts, Sidney, Diane (Jim) Ernst, Bellbrook, Nancy Ernst, Fort Loramie, John (Karen) Brandewie, Fort Loramie, Joe B. (Mary) Brandewie, Fort Loramie, and Jerry (Stacey) Brandewie, Fort Loramie; three siblings, Lester Brandewie, Celina, Paul Brandewie, Sidney, and Joan (Paul) Mauer, Fort Loramie; a stepbrother, James (Carol) Bornhorst, Fort Loramie; 17 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two sons, Lawrence Joseph and James Brandewie; a stepmother, Lucille Bornhorst Brandewie; two brothers, Maurice and Walter; a stepsister, Dolores Magato; and one grandchild.
A retired lifelong farmer, he was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Fort Loramie. He also was a member of Fort Loramie American Legion, Fort Loramie Knights of St. John and the Farm Bureau.
He served with the U.S. Navy on the USS Butte during World War II.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Steven Shoup officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-7 p.m. Sunday and 9-10 a.m. Monday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
