The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Virgil Arkenberg
Virgil C. Arkenberg, 90, formerly of Fort Loramie, died at 9:16 a.m. March 15, 2012, at Heritage Manor Nursing Center, Minster.
He was born Oct. 24, 1921, in Fort Loramie, to Ferdinand and Mary Frances Echemann Arkenberg. On Jan. 28, 1967, he married Norma Winner Luttmer, who died Aug. 8, 2002.
Surviving are two children, Linda (Ray) Fiessinger, Fort Loramie, and William (Jill) Luttmer, Minster; two sisters, Beatrice Seamen, Englewood, and Marietta Ritz, Lockport, N.Y.; a brother, Ben (Theresa) Arkenberg, Fort Loramie; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He retired from the former Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company plant in St. Marys and served with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Fort Loramie, and Fort Loramie American Legion Post 355.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Steven Shoup officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Calling is 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday and 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
Contributions may be made to the Heritage Manor Activity Fund.
