The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Donald Homan
Donald J. Homan, 78, Burkettsville, died April 20, 2012, at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton.
He was born April 7, 1934, in St. Anthony, to Theodore and Catharine Knoth Homan. On Nov. 26, 1960, he married Rosamary Holscher Homan, who died March 31, 2012.
Surviving are seven children, Cathy (Tom) Lennartz, Fort Recovery, Clara (Jeff) Knittle, Portland, Ind., Mary (Mike) Westgerdes, North Star, Dave (Deb) Homan, Fort Recovery, Rich Homan, Portland, Ind., Steve (Carrie) Homan, Fort Recovery, and Dana Homan, Fort Recovery; a sister, Jeanette Osterholt, Fort Wayne, Ind., two sisters-in-law, Rosalie Homan, Coldwater, and Mary Lou Homan, St. Anthony; 22 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, Louis Homan; two brothers, Dallas Homan and Harold Homan; a brother-in-law, Herman Osterholt; and a grandchild.
A retired farmer, he had worked for St. Clair Mills, Fort Recovery, and B.J. Kaisers Trucking, Burkettsville, and provided transportation for several Amish crews.
He was a member of the Coldwater Eagles and a lifetime member of Progressive Sportsman Club, Fort Recovery.
He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Sharpsburg.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, the Rev. Thomas Dorn officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9-9:45 a.m. Wednesday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery.
Memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
