The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Robert Nagel
Robert S. Nagel, 83, of New Bremen, died at 1:02 p.m. May 28, 2012, at Kindred Hospital, Lima. He was born July 23, 1928, in Minster, to Charles and Odillia Schwieterman Nagel. On April 7, 1951, he married Donna L. Donnerberg, who survives.
Also surviving are five children, James (Gayle) Nagel, Michael (Jill) Nagel and John (Ann) Nagel, all of New Bremen, Joyce (Hans) Steinke, St. Marys, and Daniel Nagel, Sarasota, Fla.; a daughter-in-law, Donna J. Nagel, New Bremen; a sister, Mary (James) Brown, Minster; 21 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, Robert S. Nagel; seven brothers, Wilfred "Bud," Herb, Ben, Stanley, Don, Charles Jr. and Eugene Nagel; two sisters, Lucille Schlater and Joan Korte; and a granddaughter.
He retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. plant in St. Marys after 37 years. He was a member of Church of the Holy Redeemer, where he served on the parish council, and the Home Benefit Association, all of New Bremen, Minster Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1391 and St. Marys Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 767. He was a former member of the New Bremen Lions Club and was instrumental in construction of Lions Club Park. He served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. Thomas Mannebach officiating. Burial will follow at St. Augustine Cemetery, Minster.
Calling is 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen, and after 9:30 a.m. Friday at the church, where the rosary will be recited.
