The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Robert Smith
Robert L. Smith, 84, of Yorkshire, died June 26, 2012, at The Gardens of Celina.
He was born Oct. 16, 1927, in Port Jefferson, to Claude and Arlo Shroyer Smith. On Feb. 16, 1957, he married Virginia Bergman, who survives.
Also surviving are four children, Teresa (Walt) Bertke, Peachtree, Ga., Thomas Smith and Diana (Dave) Brackman, all of Celina, and Patricia (Bob) Gehret, Versailles; a sister-in-law, Betty Smith; 16 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a daughter, Lora Poeppelman; three brothers, William, Claude and Gary Smith; a sister, Barbara Francis; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Carol Smith, Dave Francis, Velma Rammel, Vivian Clune, Bernard and Carol Bergman, Luke Rammel and Louis Clune.
He retired from Reliable Castings, Sidney, and was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church and its Men's Sodality, both of Osgood, a member and past commander of Osgood American Legion Post 588, and a past member of the Versailles School Board, Yorkshire Town Council and the Montgomery County Joint Vocational School Board. He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church with the Rev. David Zink officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery with the Legion conducting military rites.
Calling is 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday and 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
